The Real Estate Dictionary
As a first of many steps of the Doctors Properties Real Estate Education Foundation, we bring forward a comprehensive dictionary of the most commonly used terms in the Indian Real Estate Sector and also, by the Legal & Revenue Department, pertaining to all land transactions. You will find them helpful in your journey to learn about the complex Indian Real Estate sector.
We hope that members of both, the aspiring and the seasoned Real Estate community in the country and those from outside India, will find it useful.
The Real Estate Dictionary
There are currently 10 names in this directory beginning with the letter L.
Lagaan
In case the land is cultivated by other than the owner of the land__ then the person cultivating the land is liable to pay something either in cash or of some kind of payment to the owner or as agreed__ based upon the mutual agreement between the two. The agreement between two parties is known as Lagan. Sometimes if there is sale deed in the Khatoni__ then the revenue will be mentioned in this column in that case.
Lal Dora
The non-agricultural land meant to be used by villagers to support them. And in some cases__ it can also be the boundary of inhabited village__ within which ownership of land is generally through possession only.
Lal Kitab
Village Notebook__ prepared at the time of settlement. The kitab has valuable information regarding crops grown in the estate__ soil classification__ area under different crops__ land use__ transfers in land__ wells and other means of irrigation in the village and abstract of the livestock and cattle census in the village. LAL KITAB VILLAGE NOTE BOOK
Popularly known as "LAL KITAB" these are prepared at the time of settlement. The kitab has valuable information regarding crops grown in the estate__ soil classification__ area under different crops__ land use__ transfers in land__ wells and other means of irrigation in the village and abstract of the livestock and cattle census in the village. The data is updated regularly through harvest inspections and revisions of other records__ which are the main source of the data to this kitab. These Lal Kitabs are prepared at village__ tehsil and district level and maintained in the Patwari Office__ Kanungo and Sadar Kanungo respectively.

includes all kinds of benefits pertaining to land__ or things attached to the earth__ or permanently fastened to things attached to the earth and also includes shares in__ or charges on__ the revenue or rent which are or may be levied on villages__ or other defined areas]
