As a first of many steps of the Doctors Properties Real Estate Education Foundation, we bring forward a comprehensive dictionary of the most commonly used terms in the Indian Real Estate Sector and also, by the Legal & Revenue Department, pertaining to all land transactions. You will find them helpful in your journey to learn about the complex Indian Real Estate sector.

A Nakal is a copy of land records containing all the information about the land__ individual or family containing name of owners__ area of land__ shares of owners and indicates cultivation__ rent__ revenues__ other cesses payable on land__ ownership patterns__ etc.
NAKSHA BARTAN
The forestry right popularly known as TD rights details is maintained in this document. This too is the part of Misal Hakiyat(Permanent Settlement). In subsequent Jamabandies__ this information is not attached.
